Starting a Mediterranean restaurant in Northridge was something our family talked about for years. We grew up around home-cooked food fresh pita, crisp falafel, sizzling shawarma and we dreamed of bringing those comforting, vibrant flavors to a neighborhood spot where people could taste the care in every bite. That’s how Pita Pockets was born.

This wasn’t just about launching another quick stop for gyros or kebabs. We wanted to create a space where tradition, quality, and community come together. A place where the pita is baked fresh daily, where the falafel is always golden and warm, and where every order is served with a smile that says, “Welcome back.”

Our journey started with the classics our Gyro Laffa and Chicken Shawarma Wraps, generously filled with seasoned meats, hummus, tahini, fresh veggies, and our signature sauces. From the first bite, our customers kept coming back. Soon, dishes like our Falafel Plate and Lemon Chicken Wrap became local favorites.

Designing the vibe of Pita Pockets was just as important. We wanted it to feel inviting nothing fancy, just the kind of cozy counter spot where you’re greeted by name and the food tastes like home. Over the years, we’ve become part of the neighborhood, with students, families, and regulars dropping by for a quick bite or a chat. For us, this has never just been about the food.
